NDA PhD Bursary Call Open for Proposals

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is accepting proposals for its PhD bursary scheme to support its mission to deliver safe and sustainable solutions to the challenge of decommissioning and clean-up of the UK’s civil nuclear legacy.

The call is open to UK academic institutions for projects that will lead to the award of a PhD. Applicants can submit proposals up to a value of £150,000 per project.

This year, there is a dedicated website for the NDA PhD bursary call. Here, applicants can find an overview of the selection process, the research themes and topics, and the assessment guide the reviewers will use. Additionally, it provides practical information, links to key documents, a copy of the studentship agreement and details of how applicants can get support with their proposal. Applicants are required to submit their proposal through the website.

 Key Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, 13th September 2024, 3pm
  • Funding Decision: January 2025
  • Project Start Date: September/October 2025
