NNL was pleased to submit a response to the recent Government consultation on a Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) mandate, led by the Department for Transport (DFT). As we make progress towards the UK’s Net Zero commitment, decarbonising air travel is a huge challenge and this consultation examines ways in which future aviation fuels can be more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our response covers the potential use of hydrogen as a future aviation fuel, and the ways in which nuclear energy can be used to generate hydrogen for this purpose.
