NNL supports “Positive About Youth”
Over the past few years, NNL has developed a close working partnership with UK Youth, the long established and leading national youth work charity.
By supporting over 750,000 young people, UK Youth is a key player and the organisation is celebrating its centenary in 2010. NNL, as a key sponsor, is helping to mark those first 100 years.
UK Youth is using its centenary to make yet further progress in changing perceptions about young people. It wants to invest in their potential, create a legacy of raised aspiration among young people, increase opportunities and promote wider recognition of achievement. The aim is to recruit millions of individuals and organisations to pledge their support to the new ‘Positive About Youth’ campaign.
Representatives of NNL, led by Managing Director Mike Lawrence were among the 500 guests as the centenary was launch with a Royal reception at St James’ Palace hosted by the Princess Royal and Nigel Mansell.
At the event, UK Youth showcased the achievements of young people with a youth band and street dances as well as defining their objectives for ‘Positive About Youth’. This will involve a series of key events throughout the year including promotions at the London Marathon, Hay Festival and Glastonbury.
