Senior Fellows

What is your background?

I obtained a first class degree in Natural Sciences from St John's College in the University of Cambridge in 1983. In 1987 I then studied for a PhD in corrosion science in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science, University of Cambridge. In the same year, I joined the Materials Group in the BNFL Research and Technology Department at Sellafield. In 2005 I was appointed to the role of Senior Fellow and in 2006, was appointed as a Visiting Professor in the School of Materials, University of Manchester. I now lead the NNL Corrosion team based at Sellafield.

What are your key goals in the coming 12-18 months in terms of developing the Senior Fellow role?

I'm establishing links with other Universities, notably the Imperial College, London. I'm also developing the Senior Fellow technical peer review offering.
